The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR), Division of Workforce Development and Adult Learning (DWDAL) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for Administrative Officer I to function as a Local Veterans’ Employment Representative (LVER) in the Frederick and Hagerstown local offices. Responsibilities include supervising local office veterans’ programs to ensure compliance with Title 38, United States Code (USC) by monitoring services rendered, listings of vacant positions, referrals, and preparing required service reports. Please be advised that frequent travel may be required and a State vehicle may not always be available. Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle will apply according to State travel policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: One (1) year experience in administrative staff or professional work.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must meet one of the following LVER preference criteria for selection: 1) qualified service-connected disabled veterans; 2) qualified eligible veterans; and 3) qualified eligible persons [38 U.S.C. 4101(5)]. All applicants must submit a Veterans Administration Letter of Disability Rating dated within the last six months.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year- for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
