Essential Functions: 

This position is responsible for providing both competency and interest-based training, on a variety of topics with a focus on diversity and inclusion, that will enhance the job performance of Judiciary employees while executing mission critical work. The position includes conducting significant research for curricula content to support the intended course goals and outcomes; developing training curricula using adult learning principles and design practices; and facilitating training. Conducting content research includes independent research, working with subject matter experts, and developing competencies. Training development includes drafting facilitator guides, creating participant materials, PowerPoints, and transfer of learning materials for face-to-face classes, webinars, instructor-led distance learning, online courses, as well as supporting subject matter experts and faculty in developing training in all synchronous and asynchronous learning formats. Facilitating training includes engaging participants in learning format appropriate activities that are time-relevant and performance-based to support Judiciary employees' professional development and performance in alignment with the Judiciary's mission. These trainings may include face-to-face classes, live webinars, instructor-led distance learning, moderating online courses, supporting competency-based education and certificate programs, as well as providing support to external faculty in a variety of learning formats.

Additionally, this position supports and advances the development and revision of self-paced online courses, on a variety of topics with a focus on diversity and inclusion, by providing content to e-learning developers and reviewing lessons and their supporting resources to ensure content accuracy and visual imagery alignment.

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in instructional design, course development, and content delivery for the adult learner. 

Note: Professional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of curricula design and development models, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and methodology, and their application in effective training and development.
  • Ability to develop curricula that will enhance Judiciary education and course offerings.
  • Knowledge of teaching the adult learner, adult learning principles in face-to-face and distance synchronous and asynchronous learning environments, including webinars, instructor-led distance learning, and online courses.
  • Knowledge of the principles of management and leadership.
  • Knowledge of court mission, structure, culture, policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Knowledge of and skill in developing and providing diversity and inclusion education to the adult learner.
  • Ability to research and develop subject matter expertise quickly over a wide range of topics.
  • Ability to deliver educational and results-oriented training courses using effective presentation and adult learning skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, court administrators, managers, vendors, and training program participants.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot electronic support equipment (computer, projector, audio systems).
  • Ability to use computer software to create interactive and responsive online content, design manuals, develop participant guides, databases, presentations, and other correspondences.
  • Skills in effective communication through the exchange of information and ideas in ways that promote mutual understanding and effective decision-making.
  • Ability to respond readily to changes in the industry, environment, or organization and take constructive steps to address them.
