E-mail Scam Targets Millions, CareFirst Members May be Affected  

An e-mail scam targeting millions, including some CareFirst members, is currently circulating the Internet. These e-mails appear to be from CareFirst and request confidential information.

These e-mails are fraudulent. CareFirst does not send unsolicited e-mails requesting confidential information. CareFirst does not sell customer information, such as e-mail addresses, to third parties.

If you receive a suspicious e-mail, please:

  • Do not click on any links within the e-mail
  • Do not call any phone numbers listed on the e-mail
  • Do not respond to the e-mail with any confidential information
  • Contact the Customer Service number of the back of your member ID card
