Special Closings of State Buildings, Liberal Leave and Emergency Information

The state has declared liberal leave from 6:00 a.m. until the end of day shift, Friday, July 17, 2026 for non-emergency essential employees whose assigned duties require them to work outside. These employees may use liberal leave between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and the end of day shift upon notification to the employee's supervisor. Employees who are telework eligible and scheduled to telework, should telework as scheduled unless leave is granted. Emergency essential employees should report as scheduled. Note: This closing and/or liberal leave information applies to principal units and independent agencies in the Executive Branch except educational units under the jurisdiction of the University of Maryland, Morgan State University, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Maryland School for the Deaf and Baltimore City Community College. |
