Nutritionist II

TITLE: NUTRITIONIST II (1272)

SALARY: $38,594 - $61,427 (Grade 15)

CLOSING DATE: OPEN AND CONTINUOUS

DESCRIPTION: A Nutritionist II is the full performance level work providing nutrition services to clients in a public health or community setting. Employees in this class do not supervise other Nutritionists, but may provide advice and guidance to lower level Nutritionists and students. They may supervise support staff. Employees receive general supervision from a Nutritionist Supervisor, health or other administrator. The work may require travel to various locations, such as schools, clients' homes and clinics, to provide nutrition services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice under the licensing requirements for Nutritionists and Dietitians.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of experience providing professional nutrition or dietetic services.

LICENSE: Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Nutritionist or Dietitian from the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215. A copy of the current license MUST accompany application.

NOTES:

1. A Master's degree in public health with nine credit hours in human nutrition or a Master's degree in human nutrition with nine credit hours in public health may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle license valid in the State of Maryland.
