Aviation Mechanic, Helicopter

TITLE: AVIATION MECHANIC, HELICOPTER

SALARY: $35,660 - $54,899

CLOSING DATE: OPEN AND CONTINUOUS

DESCRIPTION: This is an experienced mechanic engaged in the maintenance of turbine rotorwing aircraft. As a skilled mechanic, this employee has responsibility for maintaining aircraft according to FAA requirements and manufacturer’s specifications, either at a central repair area or in the field. This employee is normally required to maintain proper agency or unit forms and records pertaining to the aircraft.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

EXPERIENCE: Two years of full-time experience or its equivalent in the maintenance of turbine rotorwing aircraft.

NOTE: Experience as defined above must have been full-time in order to be considered as qualifying. Such duties performed occasionally as incidental to other work will not be considered as qualifying.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Power-plant Mechanic license. Applicants must list the license number and date of issue on the application.

SELECTION PROCESS: Only candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be considered for this classification. Therefore, it is essential that you give complete and accurate information on your application. Successful candidates will be placed on the employment list categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED OR QUALIFIED and remain eligible for consideration for at least one year from the date of examination. This list will be used by the hiring agency to select employees.

EXAMINATION: The examination will consist of rating of your education, training and experience related to the requirements of this job. Applicants subject to background investigation, polygraph and substance abuse testing.
