 Accidental Death and Dismemberment Plan

The Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Plan is available to all Active Employees and their dependents who are eligible for health benefits with the State. The AD&D Plan is offered through Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife). The plan provides benefits in the event of an accidental death or dismemberment. No medical review is required for enrollment in the plan. This plan will cover you for accidents that occur at work as well as accidents off the job.

You can choose individual or family coverage in an amount equal to

  • $100,000
  • $200,000
  • $300,000

If you choose family coverage, your dependents are covered for a percentage of your benefit amount.

MetLife Value Added Benefits

State of Maryland employees and retirees, enrolled in the MetLife Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance plan, were recently mailed a letter announcing an enhancement to the Travel Assistance program - a value added benefit currently included in the AD&D plan. 

The Identity Theft Solutions service is now part of the Travel Assistance program which is offered at NO ADDITIONAL COST to you. Instructions on how to use this voluntary service is included in the brochure which you may link to below.
